The water and gas in diaphragm type pressure tank are divided by rubber and formed water chamber and gas chamber, so the gas will not be insoluble in water. It is not necessary to add gas under normal operation. The structure and working principle are as figure. The rubber diaphragm is fixed by flange on the tank. After installation, it should fill gas into the gas chamber till the air is drained off through nozzle. And close the nozzle when the pressure reaches the lowest working pressure designed by regulation system. The water flows into tank when the equipment has been under normal operation. With the increasment of water, the volume of water chamber has been increasingly expanded, and the gas chamber has been compressed accordingly with increasingly pressure. When the pressure reaches the largest designed pressure, the pump will stop. The pressure in the gas chamber presses the water into pipe net to keep the pressure in pipe net. It works as this in circulating to keep the constant pressure.
As the same, when fire-fighting alarming, it should start the main pump and close the pressure-pump. The main pump direct supplies water. When fire fighting is finished, close the main pump manually and then fire-fighting controlling cabinet will control the pressure pump automaticly to maintain common work.
The pressure water equipment both for life and fire fighting can supply water to life pipe net and fire-fighting pipe net together.
It is available to select the adding gas pressure or diaphragm type based on the specifications for the pressure water equipment both for life and fire fighting.

When there is no alarm, the electric valve on the life water pipe net is open, the equipment supplies water for life and fire-fighting at the same time. It is not only keep the life water but also keep a certain pressure in fire-fighting system. When there is fire alarm, the controlling equipment feedback the signal to the fire hydrant or fire control center and send out aural and visual alarm. At the same time, it will close the pressure-pump and electric valves on the living water pipe net, then open the main pump to supply water directly. After the fire-fighting finished, close the main pump manually and the whole system will work automatically to control the pressure-pump and main pimp to keep the normal operation.

There is no need to add gas frequently as adopting the rubber membrane to divide water and gas. It simplifies the structure of equipment without adding gas device and reduces the failure rate. Meanwhile there is no gasification and cavitations phenomenon as the water and gas are divided.
